Just received mine in the mail today. Note* The shipping box it comes in is pretty huge. Set up was really easy, just had to unplug all the connections from my TV into the A/V receiver/subwoofer. All those connections are now output to my TV through one simple HDMI cable, really nice. It’s a big plus being able to toggle through all the inputs through the A/V receiver remote rather than my samsung hdtv. The TV just lags too much when I try to switch between inputs i.e. going from tv to xbox 360 and having to toggle through everything in between. With the sony remote, I just have to press the button for whichever input I want and it’s automatically up, video and sound, without having to toggle through every one.
Sound is great. I can easily tell the difference between this and my Samsung TV speakers. Highs are higher, lows are lower, overall range and depth of sound is expanded. Plus the sound fills up the room without being too loud. So far I watched Black Hawk Down and played Forza Motorsport 2 with this system. The movie and game are known for their great sound and they sound a lot better with this system. I was able to notice sounds I couldn’t hear with my TV speakers.
With Sony’s reputation for dependability and all the HD inputs this thing has, I know I’ll be able to keep this investment for a long time.
For what you pay, and if you want a simple system and very easy to set up, you can go wrong with this …..movies sound amazing, very easy set up with HDMI cables, and going back and forth between DVD player and satellite was just a push of a button.
