Plus, this technology partners with you without noisy moving parts that can wear out and miscount. So when you go – GOsmart™!
The GOsmart™ Tri-Axis Pocket Pedometer (HJ-303) is simple to use and easy to set-up. Best of all, it works in any position. It’s the first GOsmart™ pedometer that accurately measures straight up and down, at an angle, on its side, and even completely flat.
It is more advanced than pedometers that use a simple pendulum design. The 3D Smart Sensor, the brain inside the GOsmart™, knows exactly when you’re taking a step. It filters out non-walking movements so you know your step count is accurate.

What is Smart Sense Technology?
GOsmart™ Pedometers by Omron feature Smart Sense technology. Instead of using a simple pendulum mechanism (the clicking you hear on most pedometers), GOsmart™ pedometers use advanced acceleration sensors. These sensors know exactly when you are taking a step and filter out non-walking movements so you know your count is accurate.
Does it matter where the pedometer is placed or attached?
The new GOsmart™ Tri-Axis Pocket Pedometer (HJ-303) is the most advanced GOsmart™ pedometer – it can be used at any angle even flat! Use in a pocket, purse/bag or on the hip in any direction.
What’s the accuracy rate of Omron Pedometers?
The precision of the step counting is within +/- 5%.
What are moderate steps?
The HJ-151 and HJ-303 GOsmart™ pedometers separately displays the steps and minutes walked at a moderate pace, 90 steps or more per minute.

The HJ-303 uses 1 lithium battery (Included) that last with normal use for about 6 months. Package measures 3″ x 1 3/8″ x 1/2″ inches (L x W x H) and weighs 1.0oz (battery included).
Omron HJ-303 GoSmart Tri-Axis Pocket Pedometer Reviews
I have both the omron 720it (computer downloadable) and hj 112…both are extremely accurate and easy to use…this revision of the pedometer concept is terrific…small but large numbers…easy to set and use…it really does work in any position…the display blanks out to save power so it is inconvenient to constantly be looking at it…still not much of a problem…i checked it against my other omrons and it’s within 0.7%…it keeps better track of aerobic activity than the others (they only record after 10 min of activity…the hj 303 after 4 seconds)…overall, the size (small) and accuracy and ease of use make this pedometer an outstanding device for walking or running.
This pocket pedometer is smooth & slim and easily fits in a pocket for use. The leash has a good clasp and using it makes me comfortable that the pedometer isn’t going to slip out of my pocket. It also has an adjustable clip, to use on a waist band or belt.
Tracks moderate pace walking in addition to the overall steps for the day. I never need to reset it, unless I want to track the overall total for a specified event (the TRIP function). It doesn’t lose the data for the week, and the counter starts fresh after midnight each day.
I have found this pedometer times out too fast for me. When I walk my dogs and they decide to stop it takes just long enough for it to time out and turn off. Consequently I have to constantly check it to see if it is on. It is strickly for runners or walkers that don’t stop or that are ready to check it if they happen to stop. For the cost I think I should be able to over-ride that feature.
