This DCC controller is well worth the money I spent on it. The features are easy to use and easy to understand. Instructions are written on the back of the unit. I am using it with a Bachmann DCC train set. It does not run the loco’s as well at the lower speeds as does the Bachmann controller that came with the set. I measured the voltage on the rails and found out it is the Bachmann controller that runs a voltage above standard so I can’t knock MRC for this problem. I also have several Bachmann DCC controlled turnouts. The MRC Prodigy Express will not program these turnouts but it will work fine with them after they have been programed with the Bachmann conroller.
I do have a complaint about the way the throttle works, when you twist the throttle to increase speed it likes to jump to full in about a quarter of a turn. To get control over the throttle at you must turn the knob VERY slow to get it to move up in single steps. I don’t think my controller has a problem, I believe it is programed this way. If not for this problem I would give it a five star rating.
