My daughter just bought 2 different Monster High Dolls….She has been playing with them for hours and loves them! She was never into Bratz or Barbies etc…but these dolls she likes because of the spooky theme. The arms people are complaining about are meant to be removed with ease so that the clothes can be changed. She has not had a problem with them being too loose, just right. I hope they will come out with some other outfits or even expand the doll characters. Overall, so far I would recommend these dolls, they are really unique and display nicely for collectors as well.

My 7 year old LOVES these dolls. I’ll have to admit that they are WAY cooler than the typical Barbie. This line of products even has my daughter reading the new “Monster High” novel, which is well above her reading level, but she’s reading the book every night anyway, so I gave the doll three stars for its “educational value”.

The complaints about the arms, however, are right on the mark. My daughter took Frankie Stein to school in her backpack, and the arm fell off somewhere between the bus and home, and is now missing for good. She received the Cleo DeNile and Deuce Gorgon set as a gift, and Cleo’s arm fell off and got lost THE VERY NEXT DAY. We now have two Monster High dolls with one missing arm each. Luckily I was able to convince my daughter that mummies and Frankenstein monsters lose limbs all the time, and that their amputations only make them more convincing!

I called Mattel’s customer service line, and they don’t offer replacement limbs, nor do they consider a loose limb a defect, so they won’t replace or exchange a damaged doll. So if you do manage to lose a limb, you’re out of luck!

As a monster movie fan, I fell in love with these dolls at first sight and my daughters were not far behind me. After a couple weeks of the girls working for their future purchase, I bought Frankie Stein and Draculara for them. They could not be happier! They are super cute dolls and I find the detachable hands and arms very helpful. We have not had issues with the body parts just falling off (and that is even after my youngest child has gotten ahold of them a few times in the past couple weeks).

I hope they come out with new characters and start stocking the shelves a little better. Our local Targets are already sold out!

Maybe it’s a safety issue, but the eyes don’t shut on this doll. I didn’t realize that would be important, even to a 1 1/2 year old.

I love the look of this doll and really wanted it to work out. The doll arrived with a small hole in the plush fabric that unravelled very easily. I also have to agree with the other review that the plush fibers come out very easily. I expected better quality with it being a Madame Alexander Doll.
