This Bowflex PR1000 Home Gym just arrived today. Took about 2 hours to assemble, but it’s pretty easy. I almost bought this from another site, because they were going to assemble it (would’ve been 200 extra dollars for that) and I am very glad I did it myself.

This Bowflex PR1000 Home Gym For Sale unit is extremely sturdy and well put together. I was a bit nervous to buy this because I have young kids I did not want to trash it. Believe me, they couldn’t! This is far too well-designed and durable.

Worked out for about an hour, and I love it. Lots of exercises you can do (both muscular and cardio) and you can really feel it.

As others have noted on other models, I can see how the weights (200 lbs) might not be enough, but I am not looking to become the Incredible Hulk. This unit is perfect to stay fit and not let those holiday meals get the upper hand.

I really recommend this to anyone who wants to work at home and does not want to be bored with the same old routine (treadmill, stationary bike, etc.)

Bought the Schwinn 120 Upright Exercise Bike a couple of weeks ago. Took about an hour to assemble. Unlike some of the other reviewers experience, all the parts were in good condition. I am extremely satisfied with the product. It is very well constructed and stable. I am 6’2″ and my knees don’t hit the center console (unless my knees are angled inward, which is not how one should pedal). I am an avid bicyclist and find the ride very smooth and whisper quiet. I like the variety of programs included as well as the option of creating my own. All in all, this is a great product at a very reasonable price.

After doing much research on upright excercise bikes, I selected the Schwinn 140 Upright Exercise Bike. I ordered the unit from Amazon on Sunday and received it on Wednesday. The box is good sized and quite heavy so I waited for the weekend to move to the basement and assemble. The assembly process took about 1.5 hours. The instructions were simple (tools included) all parts went together very well. I had a little challenge installing the handlebars (due to computer cable), but after a couple of tries, everything fell into place an sligned properly. The computer unit has a number of pre-programmed profiles, but I created my own, and this was a very easy and simple process. The instruction manual could be better, but most operation is intuitive anyway, so not that important. The bike is very quiet and smooth, allowing the user to change profiles on the fly. The unit is also allows for easy adjustment for just about every aspect of the bike, allowing different users a proper fit. Overall, very pleased with value received and of prompt delivery by Amazon.

Way better then buying a trainer for your bike. A friend of mine purchased this ProForm 290 SPX bike before i did so it gave me a chance to ride ProForm 290 SPX and see how well it was made. The only bad thing about the ProForm 290 SPX bike is the seat, you really need to tighten it down if your a fatty like me. I changed out the basket pedals for clip less pedals so i could use my riding shoes. The ProForm 290 SPX bike is heavy and well built which is a plus for people who push the scale past 250 like me. ProForm 290 SPX is not as noise as a bike trainer unless you get a fluid trainer but then you would be paying more money and probably buy another wheel set-up so you don’t wear out your pricey ones. I love this ProForm 290 SPX bike!

I have been struggling to get a good, effective cardio workout in such a small apartment space. I don’t have the space for a treadmill or any other major cardio machine, and I also didn’t want to pay the price for this equipment. I also did not want to invest in a gym membership that was likely not going to be cost effective for me.

Before getting the ProForm 290 SPX bike, I would rely on running/biking outside in sometimes miserable cold weather. I found myself making excuses because of the weather, and consequently skipping workouts. ProForm 290 SPX simply wasn’t working for me. I was committed to doing a 42-mile bike tour in early May, and knew something was going to have to change to get into shape for this tour.

I found this ProForm 290 SPX bike, and the reviews seemed positive, and decided to purchase ProForm 290 SPX. I have not regretted it at all! I have a VERY small New York apartment, and I’m able to roll this bike out and plop it in front of my television when using it, and then store it in a corner in my hallway. It’s versatile in terms of the effectiveness of your workout, as the resistance can easily be changed. I also have a hectic schedule, and simply being able to hop on this bike for an hour in between meetings has made working out on a daily basis possible for me. Within the first two weeks of using this (3x a week on average) I found a noticeable change in my physique and how fit I felt. I definitely feel as though I’m getting an effective workout. I am a very athletic and active person, and have been my whole life, involved in skiing, surfing, paddle boarding, and other activities.

Assembly was very easy and took about 20 minutes at most. ProForm 290 SPX is also easily adjustable to people of all sizes, as my boyfriend who is about seven inches taller than me can adjust it and hop on in a cinch. I do agree that the seat was a little uncomfortable at first, but as a cyclist I can tell you this is usually because your body is not used to carrying weight on the areas it does when you are on a bike. I do use a padded seat cover on this bike, but your body will slowly adjust to this as it gets used to carrying weight on your rear when bike riding. However, the seat cover helps A LOT with this adjustment, and would strongly recommend it especially for anyone not used to bike riding for long distances.

I also had concerns about the ease of moving this ProForm 290 SPX bike around an apartment. ProForm 290 SPXdoes weigh quite a bit, but leveraging it onto its wheels is very easy, and moving it around the limited space I have is also easy. I wouldn’t worry about this if it is a concern of yours.

All in all I would strongly recommend this ProForm 290 SPX bike!

Kelty Redwing 3100 Backpack

Ok, I have had this Kelty Backpacks for a month now so I thought I would write about it. I bought this bag mainly for use on my 60 mile daily commute via public transit. Let me tell you, it’s big! It is way bigger than I normally need, but that’s a plus for me as hate carrying multiple items and wanted it big enough to carry my coat inside. So it’s roomy and very comfortable, is very adjustable and can handle a serious load. The craftsmanship is good, the materials are good, and the amount of usable pockets is good. And, most important for me, I am a big guy, and it fits comfortably. If you are under 180lbs, this thing is probably too big for you for daily use. My only issue has been the main compartment zipper is a little stiff and catches up on the zipper cover.

I got this pack for backpacking trips with my Boy Scout troop. I’m just on the south side of 50 and need to start lightening the load to keep up, so I went for a smaller (than I’ve used in the past) pack that would force me to keep my gear to only what I really need. Took it on the first trip with the boys a couple of weekends ago and was very pleased. I got my pack weight (w/o food and water down to under 25 pounds with tarp and only a little more with tent. This is definitely a pack for going lighter – it wouldn’t do well with more than 30 lbs. (but then again, neither do I anymore).

Lots of pockets, attachment points, well-constructed, and a great price, especially on sale. I looked at many other much more expensive packs by some big-name makers and would still have chosen the Redwing 3100 even if it cost as much as those others. It really was exactly what I was looking for for two night weekend trips – its size is just enough if you really do commit to minimalist/lightweight. (I still have four other packs for longer trips or for when my wife goes with me and I need to carry a bigger load.) I have not used it for travel yet, but I have a trip to Colorado for the USAFA graduation (my nephew) next month and might give it a try for my carry-on rather than my rolling duffle. Highly recommended Kelty Backpacks!

I’M 4’11″. I have big problems finding packs that are comfortable for me. I carried this pack for two weeks through Guatemala, where wheeled luggage isn’t a good option.

The pack work excellently. I carried 26 – 36 lbs, depending on how much liquid I was packing. The shoulder straps are very easily adjustable for different height people, and the different pockets made it easy to find and store things. I particularly liked and used the handy rain cover. I never ran out of room and could have easily carried more junk…

Expensive IMO, but worth it

20+ dollars for a water bottle, crazy right! Well I have to admit I was a little skeptical but SIGG has been around for a few years and are known in the outdoor community for high quality products, so I bought one. I’m totally impressed mostly with the liner they have on the inside. I make a shake for breakfast (which contains milk), and then wash it out and put water for the rest of the day. No taste what so ever in the water from the morning shake! Simply just washed it out with some hot water and I’m good. The construction is top notch lid threads are precise and seal 100% (unlike cheap ones). The lid also has a metal loop that is easy to get a finger in or attach it to a carabineer etc.. The bottle also has been extruded with ridges for a grip, which if you’ve had the other ones that are slick, when they condensate it’s pretty tough to hold on tight. Overall you get what you pay for!

Awesome water bottle

Super cool look, But more importantly, it keeps cold liquids cold during my heated 1 1/2 hr Yoga class! I also really like how you can have the same water sitting there for days and it does not get that yucky stale smell that other water bottles get. Just make sure you double check that the lid is screwed all the way on. I have drank from it and only put the lid on enough for a couple threads to engage and forgot so ended up dumping water all over inside my bag. More user error, I suppose!

Great Alternative to Plastic

I bought this bottle for two reasons. One was because I did not like having tons of empty plastic bottles lying around until I could recycle them (usually forgetting to do so) and the second was to try and make sure I got a solid intake of water everyday. The idea here is that at the end of the day if I arrived home with a nearly empty water bottle, I had at least a liter of water for the day, nice!

As for the actual Sigg bottle, I absolutely love it. I keep in on the side of my backpack and it fits nice and snug. I would recommend checking out the dimensions of the bottles on Sigg’s website depending on whether you want to stash it somewhere or not. The build quality is top notch and it is very easy to clean as well. The cap holds tight to the bottle well and has not leaked in the slightest. I’ve also put juice in it before and would recommend a cleaning afterward to avoid buildup on the innards of the container. One thing worth noting is if I do not clean it periodically (everyday or every other day), the water contained in it takes on a metallic taste. Lastly, since the outer surface is not completely smooth, it allows for a better grip.

To sum up, overall this is a fantastic product. If you are cool with drinking tap water or have a filter, this will save you from having to purchase bottled water from the store. It will serve you well for quite a while if you treat it with a little care.

Fun ride- bought it for my 7 yr. old son but can carry me or my husband too. Kent Scooter Much faster than the Razors and easier to balance, also a smoother ride due to the real tires. Assembly was easy. Only con to this item is the cheesy brakes. Fortunately, you don’t really need them.

Solid, well built, good price and fun to ride

I couldn’t decide between the Razor Lux A5 and the Kent Super Scooter–so I bought them both

The Kent was easy to assemble and is very similar ride to the Sidewalker Micro at a fraction of the price. The only thing I got from the Micro is the fold-up feature. The Super Scooter has a choice of two wheel sizes, we opted for the larger. While it is a kid kickscooter, I’m 57 and ride it with my grand daughter. It is a blast. The capacity will easily accomodate an adult–you can easily adjust the handle bars between kid and adult. While my grand daughter prefers the Razor Lux A5, I really like them both and don’t regret either purchase from Amazon (other than the steep shipping cost ….. I just couldn’t find them at any local brick and mortar. Absolutely no regrets and a great toy for any kid.

Great Kent Super Scooter

I bought two of these for my daughter as gifts when she was 8 y.o. and they were huge hit for her and her friends visiting for playdates. We have a gravel road so these big tires are perfect. She has a razor too but these Kents are universally more popular with all the kids. My husband put them together very quickly. One of the two scooters came missing a part but Amazon quickly shipped out a new scooter and we returned the scooter missing the parts smoothly/easily. My daughter is almost 5 feet tall now at 10.5 years old so these are now getting a bit short so I’ll soon be searching for a way to make them taller. They’re still very popular with her and all her friends though. My only wish is that the Kent Super Scooters were made a little more adjustable in order to accommodate someone over 5 feet tall. I think even HS and college kids ….and adults would use them if they could handle their heights….adult weight does not seem to be an issue though….I’ve stood on them fine.
