I got the Apple iPod touch 8 GB (4th Generation) for my wife for her birthday. First of all she had been talking about it, or I should say wishfully thinking about it out loud. So picking up on her hint, I got iPod touch 8 GB (4th Generation). She absolutely loves it and uses it all the time. I wanted to get rid of my iPhone 4 and it’s associated contract, so when I did, I bought the newest iPod touch 8 GB (4th Generation) to replace it. I’m extremely thrilled with my purchase. It’s basically an exact copy of my iPhone 4 (in fact, all I had to do was restore the iPod Touch to my latest iPhone 4 backup and everything copied over, including photos and video) minus the phone/contract part. Everything works like a charm, though I am a bit disappointed in the camera as it isn’t as good as my iPhone 4′s, and it also lacks flash. However, it’s still wonderful to use and the battery life is significantly better than my iPhone’s was. Very pleased.

I’ve used a 16 GB iPod Touch G2 for about a year and a half and use it almost daily. My laptop computer has required more dusting for a while now. The problem is that my wife loves it too so she is using it most of the time! I recently decided that I would be a nice hubby and give it to her and just get me a Apple iPod touch 8 GB G4 version 16 GB was a good size for me, but 8 GB is too small, so I had to opt for the 32 GB version.

Just for anyone that iPod touch 8 GB (4th Generation) is wondering, I was able to move all my games and saved data over to the new iPod by doing a backup of the old one and restoring it to the new one. It saved all my places in the games so I dont have to start over. Differences were readily apparent when I started messing with it. The display is certainly more crisp. I’d say that text is the biggest difference, which is nice since I like to read Kindle and my bible app on it frequently. The speed was also a marked improvement. If you play Angry Birds, then you know how you have to pause and restart levels a rediculous amount of times if you are tring to get “3 Stars.” I didn’t realize that there was a lag on my G2 until I did this iPod touch 8 GB (4th Generation) on the G4. The transitions are basically instantaneous.

Moving up from the G2, it is nice to have the camera and mic on board to increase its overall usefullness. The camera is not spectacular, but it does what you need it too and its better than my current cell phone. Using it as a mini-camcorder will certainly add some to the fun factor. Battery life is hard to compare since my other one has lost juice over time, but to say that the new iPod lasts longer than the old one at this point would be a “no duh.”

If you are deciding on this vs a Zune, you have to consider the apps available. Over the last year or so, I have downlaoded around 80-90 apps and I think I have spent less than $30 in total. There are so many free ones and others that are $0.99 that theres no competition. One down for me is that I made the mistake fo ripping alot of CDs to WMA a while back (and ditched the CDs) and the iPod will not play them. I’ve had to convert them over to mp3 (yes, I know, lossy to lossy is BAD) but I’m not an audiophile, so its okay. I obviouly got over it since I’m buying a second one, but keep that in mind if you have the same problem. I also wish Apple would stop stalling and put a GPS in there already! Maybe we’ll see it in the G5 or G6 version?

As a Healthcare provider, an RN on a busy hospital cardiac unit, I still remember how I depended upon my 1st PDA, a Palm Pilot, with how much memory? Every couple of years I purchased the latest palm, each time in awe of the advances in technology making my work life easier. When I bought the 1st G ipod touch I was more than pleased with its capabilities. I had my favorite medical apps, Epocrates, Medcalc, Isilo, and medical dictionary at my fingertips. Now I have an ipod touch G4. All I can say is WOW to the improvement in the ease of use, speed and retina display. My apps are no longer sluggish and no longer crash on me as the apps updated and my G1 didn’t.
I have yet to fully take advantage of all the new features. A few of us at work have the G4s and are able to communicate wireless via facetalk. I love the way I can organize my apps together to save space. I use it for my life now, not just my work. I carry books, a few games, my calender, email, etc. with me. I am even learning a foreign language. I’m very happy with my purchase.

I completly adore this Best Blu Ray Player. It is true that takes a bit of time to load (maybe about 10-15 seconds) which I can totally wait for. It is worth it! Quality is AMAZING and the extra features are very useful. I listen to Pandora all day long. I highly recommend it!

I just got this player yesterday and I probably should wait a little while longer to leave a review, but the fact is, everything seems to be working perfectly so unless it breaks down very quickly, there won’t be much to add.

I was replacing an older Samsung Blu-Ray player (I upgraded to get the WiFi capability) so connection was simply a matter to disconnectiong the existing HDMI cable and plugging it into the new set.

Set up was relatively simple, with the only small glitch being that I had trouble entering in the password for my wifi setup. The letters switched to *** too quickly and I lost my place. I don’t think this level of “security” it needed. After all, we’re probably setting this up in our own homes: who is going to sneak up behind us and steal our wifi password? If you’re used to texting, you will most likely have no problems but for those of us who aren’t used to clicking the number “6″ three times to get a “0″ might find this difficult. Still, big deal, right?

There were a number of automated updates that had to take effect before I got everything working right, but once they went through, I had access to Pandora, Blockbuster, Netflix, Youtube, the weather app, and other apps.

The only downside is that most of the “apps” (once you get the important ones such as those I’ve listed above) are useless. Perhaps in the future they will get more of a selection, but frankly, I can’t imagine using a large screen TV to check facebook or play completely obsolete games.

I did notice that my regular disks (non-Blu-Ray) looked sharper and better than they did on the old blu-ray player, but that might be simply a psychological benefit of getting a new toy — everything looks better at first!

I will also note that I am NOT a ‘techie’ who is particularly talented at setting up electronic devices. I’m not totally ignorant, but for me the setup didn’t require real technical expertise.

I was a little hesitant to purchase this blu-ray player because of the negative reviews here on amazon but I decided to take a chance because there doesn’t appear to be any player that was truly rated better and I have a new samsung TV and I’ve found matching brands can work better together. So far I have been pretty happy with the player. I was looking for a player that can stream Netflix and so far this model has worked great. I have the less robust 802.11g network (compared to 802.11n) and I have had no streaming problems. It was able to stream several movies without any interruption. I live in a 1 floor 1200 sf condo and my wireless modem is fairly close to the player so keep that in mind when evaluating my experience. I was able to update the firmware and install all the Samsung apps (for Netflix for example) wirelessly without any real problems. The player did get hung up a bit during this process but on a second try it worked fine. I think the problem during this process was that there was quite a lot the player was trying to do at once and it got hung up. I’ve watched one blu-ray dvd on the player and there was a minor problem moving back through the menus but I’m not sure if the problem was with the player or the blu-ray dvd. Generally I’ve been happy. The player is perfectly functional. There have been a few of the aforementioned hang-ups with the player getting stuck but this has not been particularly annoying. Some of the navigation buttons on the remote do not work for tv functions (like watching dvx files on a thumb drive) which is a little annoying.

Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) Reviews

This is my second iPod Touch. I owned a 1G iPod Touch which went through the washing machine and came out very clean but non functional.

I use this Cheap iPod touch 32GB mainly for reading books using Stanza. It will hold a lot of them. 64GB is a crazy amount of space. I fit my entire music collection, all my pictures and still had room left over. Lately I’ve cut back my music to what I really like, and I’m ripping my DVD collection into MP4′s and loading them onto this device.

Recently I spent 12 days sailing on the ocean and this was my book reader, music player, and video player. It is just about all you need in a slender package.

In the past I used those rubber covers. I liked that they would stick and hold this in position when I put it down. However, they did not hold up. Now I use it without a cover, and I’ve dedicated my front left pocket to this device alone–to prevent scratches.

There are lots of aps out there. I like Things, and Stanza the most. It is good for games, but why waste your time with that when you could be reading. The only game I play any more is Sudoku–because it puts me to sleep at night.

Battery life is good. I adjust the brightest to the lowest usable setting. Most times I use it at night, so it lasts a real long time for me. I have an external battery made by Griffin for long plane rides. I find I don’t use that much. It is better to carry along a charger and an extension cord, and plug in before you get on a plane–while waiting. When I do that I don’t seem to need the external battery.

It is a library in your pocket for music, books, and videos.

Cons:

It is wifi only. I’ve found that most places I go to often offer Wifi-so I can check my email and web browse.

As a web browser, it works, but not very well. You constantly spend your time resizing things so you can read them, and the contracting them to see the whole page again.

Price? Maybe, I feel it is well worth the price. Apple products are products done right. This is the definition of the future–where everything is better. Apple makes everything better.

I love my Apple Hot iPod nano

My ipod nano (5th Gen) is my second ipod. The first was an 80 gig video ipod that was given to me. It finally died and I needed a replacement that was not as big to take with me EVERYWHERE. When I saw the nano I was first surprised that all it offered in such a small package. I really enjoy the extras like the pedometer and the voice memos. I am able to record sessions at rehearsals and meetings as well gage my fitness progress via Nike+. I have only used the video camera once and I can say its not bad. The FM tuner is cool too with the song tagging feature. I just enjoy my nano and am happy I purchased it. I am sold!

I’ve always had iPod’s. They are the only MP3 player that I will ever purchase. They have so many extra features and last a really long time. They’re durable as well which is what I need. I seem to always be dropping mine and they last me five plus years. I was a little reluctant to use the nano because I’ve always had the video iPod and I’m definitely a creature of habit. I’m very happy with the Nano though! I love that they finally came out with an ipod with a radio built in. I like to listen to my morning radio while I’m working out and I’m able to do that now. I like that I can click the middle button when I want to know what song I’m listening to so I don’t have to constantly look down while I’m driving. The only downside was I had to buy a new ipod dock to charge it. Overall I love it. I love how it looks, sounds, plays and all the extras. I would recommend this product to anyone looking into buying an MP3 player. It’s easy to work and they’ve always lasted forever for me!

160 gigs of awesomeness, perfect companion to my 32GB iPhone 3GS

Even though I have an iPhone 3GS, I wanted an iPod to carry my entire library (55 gigs) so I can have all my music on an iPod and also to serve as a backup hub for my music, since I did have a hard drive crash this year and my old 80 gig 5G ipod saved my stuff. This summer, I gave my 80GB 5G iPod away to my cousin and now I need a new one. Maybe in about two years, when iPhone are up to 128GB, i won’t need a classic around anymore…

iPod now at 160GB on one platter, I never thought this day would come. At just $255, it’s a perfect complement to my iphone. I remember a few years back, I had a 1st gen shuffle, 2nd gen mini, 1st gen nano, ipod photo, and the ipod video, and I used all 5 of them. The iPhone has allowed me to finally consolidate down to just it and the 160gig classic. I see this classic being with me for many years, serving as a nice archive.

I recently got the new 160 GB IPod. at the same time My best Friend Bought One too. we also got my brother one for his 33 birthday as well. All I’ve heard from my best friend and brother is nothing but raves.. I can tell you this is miles ahead of the old 160 of which I’ve been though tree and still have a working one as well. First off it’s much smaller and compact. it is also much faster to use and seems to be faster to download too as well. there are 2 features I am not too familiar with but that seem to be good as well. First off the genius feature that is available with the new ITunes versions can be used straight from your IPod and I believe you get your TV shows in HD as well. As I only download music this feature doesn’t apply to me. All in all it’s nice to have a smaller more compact easier to use version of the IPod 160 GB classic. I only wish they would make a bigger IPod Classic as this is only a part of my music library!

The Best!

I am writing this review with my touch. This is the best PDA on the market. Fast Internet, great portability, great quality, and great software from Apple. It’s very easy to use and user-friendly. The Bluetooth and network connectivity are awesome not to mention the quality of Apple’s OS. You cannot go wrong with an Apple product. The differences between the 2G are suttle, but still noticeable. Some things to note, the 3G does not come with the cleaning fabric and comes installed with the latest OS 3.1 software.

“Music is what feelings sound like.” I got my IPod touch this past year for Christmas and I love it! I play on it all the time. There are so many cool apps for it and I haven’t had any problems with it so far. The IPod touch is great for anyone, girl or boy, young or old. Everyone can personalize it with apps and music they like. And the battery lasts really long, which helps with long car rides. The IPod touch hasn’t given me any problems and there is nothing I don’t like about it! The IPod touch is something everyone should have.
