Great Underwater Camera for Kodak PlaySport (Zx3) HD Waterproof Pocket Video Camera Bundle. My wife and I recently bought this camera for our trip to the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. The Kodak PlaySport (Zx3) camera works great and is simple to use especially when you are underwater snorkeling. The pictures turned out excellent. They really displayed the color of the reef. The videos we took were also great quality. The only problem I had was when you are underwater Kodak PlaySport (Zx3) is very difficult to see the screen so some of the video or pictures were not what they could have been. But for the price of this camera, the great quality pictures I did get and its multiple functionality I am not going to complain and would recommend Kodak PlaySport (Zx3).
I have only made a few experimental/learning videos with this Kodak PlaySport (Zx3). My impressions are that it’s fine at this price/size and I think the many extensive reviews areon target. In the hope of sparing others a few hours of frustration, I wanted to mention the struggle I had trying to install and use the included Arcsoft Mediaimpression for Kodak software under Windows 7 (64 bit), and a no-cost alternative. I loaded and installed Mediaimpression and then downloaded and installed the latest update. Afterwards, most times when I tried to open the program the flash screen would come on and nothing further with the program showing as “not responding”. Sometimes, with a clean restart, I could get Kodak PlaySport (Zx3) to open, open a couple video files, and seem to be working..only to freeze later.
In this price range camera, I didn’t feature spending another $50+ for editing software. And the only file format this camera produces is .mov (Quicktime) and not all software works on that. Easy solution: Windows Live Moviemaker (free with Windows 7) works fine with this format and does basic editing nicely. So assuming this problem is limited to Windows 7 users, a solution is at hand.
